You really have to get up early to capture the pure essence of Bourton on the Water. It was around 05.45 am as I packed my camera gear and drove the short journey down to the centre of the village. Not a sole to be seen not a sound of delivery drivers or coaches just me and the ducks. It will only be a matter of time before the morning turns to chaos and the sound of thousands of visitors echo the banks.
In the 17th century the river you see in this picture was actually channelled from the original river running round the village. This was to power three mills which one is now the Motor Museum but little did they know just how much beauty they created for us all to see today.
Capturing these shots do require patients and be prepared to get your wellies on!
